It’s been a while since I last connected and I have so much to exciting news to share with you.
Over the past few months I have been working my buns off to transform both my life and my business into something that not only brings me a sense of professional accomplishment but also fulfills my soul-deep desire to make a true and lasting impact in the world, one woman at a time.
Well, just like my Granny used to say, “Baby, be careful what you ask for and be sure you’re prepared for it.” So true to form the Universe began to respond in accordance to my stated desires. Unfortunately it didn’t always show up in nice, neat, tidy and controllable ways. First, I spent more than six weeks fighting off a flu bug that would have knocked out King Kong. As if that wasn’t enough, I then ended up with food poisoning and everything that I had planned for my beginning of the year launch went completely sideways, so back to the drawing board I went.
Be Careful What You Ask For…
Well, just when I thought I had it all figured out and was about to launch an awesome coaching program, I had a technology glitch that completely deleted my ENTIRE email list; thousands of connections that had taken me years to cultivate – GONE!! One thing after the other seemed to come along out of nowhere to derail my plans. After years of easy six-figure success, it seemed like I was on my way to becoming the poster child for frustration & disappointment. I had to take a step back – LITERALLY- and ask myself, “What in the world is going on?”
The Message was in the Music…
Then one day, in the midst of frustration I decided to give myself a concert of my inspirational music, quotes, TEDtalks and Super Soul Sunday. I dusted off a few of my favorite songs by Ledisi (a powerhouse R&B/Jazz vocalist). While listening to her gift, I heard the message in this song, I especially listened closely at 5:10 as she said, “I was running, listening to everybody tell me what to be, who to be, how to walk, how to talk, how to sing…[I was} almost to the ground, almost lost my soul, almost lost it all…I was running, I was running. Listening to them and them and her…… I was running. I was everywhere but where You needed me to be.”
She is speaking of her Spiritual connection and how she had allowed the outside voices and opinions of others to distract her from her TRUE Divine purpose. Then in a moment of clarity, she hears the internal reminder from her soul say to her “put me (God) first in EVERYTHING that you do!”
Clear the Clutter!!
Ya’ll I was DONE!! It was at this point that I realized that I had been so busy seeking external guidance in an effort to be “industry accurate” that I had unconsciously foregone the very thing that called forth and sustained in me the talents, skills, gifts and abilities upon which I had built my business in the first place – my Divine Spiritual connection. As I listened to these words of transparency pouring like a healing honey from the soul of this powerful singer, I began to weep; yes, the ugly cry. I cried cleansing tears, like a rain shower, that allowed me to clear away the clutter of the opinions, thoughts and suggestions of others who would have me to do or be what they needed vs. what my SOUL was calling forth into the world through the vessel called me. On the other side of a box of Kleenex, I RE-called (called back unto myself) the message & purpose for which I AM here. In a nutshell, it is Empowerment through entrepreneurship – One woman at a time.
That being said, I had to make some serious adjustments so that I can stay consciously connected to the Truth of my purpose and be of the greatest service that I possibly can.
So What’s New??
Once I began to see things more clearly, I DECIDED that like oxygen, Spirituality is essential to my mission of empowering high achieving women entrepreneurs toward the full expression and fulfillment of their highest potential. Because I also know that “Faith without works is dead” I AM implementing an ongoing email empowerment series which will offer valuable tips, information and action steps focused on the 7 key areas of empowerment in The First Lady Lifestyle & Leadership Academy:
1-Success Mindset
2-Total Health & Wellness

Speaking of our list, We’re moving!!
After the experience of losing my email list I’ve decided to move to a new service provider. I hope to make this transition smoothly and with as little impact to you as possible. I’m requesting that you take advantage of the great incentive that I’m offering by taking a moment to subscribe to my list (even if you’ve done so in the past).
